Innovation in curriculum design at the system level is crucial for nurturing students’ sustainability skills. This study focuses on teaching reform of a hydraulic engineering construction and management course, taking sustainable development perspective achieving harmonious integration knowledge acquisition skill development. A “One Center, Two Platforms, Three Education” model devised, incorporating outcome-based education five-color psychological theory. encompasses student-centered approach, leveraging Chaoxing platform virtual simulation experiment while addressing theoretical, practical, ideological-political education. The participants consisted water hydropower students School Energy Power Engineering, Xihua University. not only enhances learning motivation but also elevates their academic performance. Moreover, has yielded notable improvements overall quality, independent abilities, innovation aptitude. effectiveness this courses garnered positive feedback from both graduates employers, who acknowledge its contribution to enhancing quality promoting Furthermore, can serve as reference college fostering abilities ethical standards.
